World's Longest Pedestrian Suspension Bridge • 494 m • Randa, Switzerland
The Charles Kuonen Hängebrücke connects Randa and Grächen in the Swiss Alps. At 494 meters, it held the title of world's longest pedestrian suspension bridge at the time of its construction in 2017.
The bridge replaced an older structure that was damaged by rockfall. SWISSROPE designed and built the new bridge in just 10 weeks, using advanced damping technology to ensure stability even in strong alpine winds.
Today, the bridge is an iconic attraction on the Europaweg hiking trail, offering spectacular views of the Weisshorn and Matterhorn mountains.
